  • 6. What is the rate validity for the offers generated for FCL?

A: The quotes provided on Drayage Spot are based on the ETA of your container you provide when you run a quote. Quotes are valid around the specified ETA. This means they are generally reliable for the period close to the given arrival date, allowing for some minor deviations in timing.

Holiday Periods: During major holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas, there may be fluctuations in rates due to increased demand, limited availability of carriers, or operational constraints.

Ship Delays: If your ship is delayed or arrives significantly outside the expected ETA window, the initially quoted rates might no longer apply.

It's important to anticipate potential changes in rates during these periods and plan accordingly. Keeping communication open with your partner can help mitigate surprises.

    Managing Expectations:
    • Be Prepared for Variability: Understand that some variability in rates is normal, especially in special situations. Being prepared for these fluctuations and maintaining a proactive approach to communication can help navigate these challenges effectively.
    • Regular Updates: Check regularly for any updates or changes in your ETA and keep all relevant parties informed to ensure continuity and avoid unexpected costs.
    • Quote Request Time: If your quote request is made more than 30 or 60 days before the ETA, it's recommended to double-check the rate as the ETA approaches to ensure accuracy.

  • 7. Are the quotes in Drayage Spot final?

A: The rates automatically generated by Drayage Spot are based on current market data and are typically very accurate, especially in high-traffic ports.
